Hi Coaches, I hope you have enjoyed your summer break as it quickly winds down into the beginning of September.  As we move toward Fall and the start of a new school year, the next basketball season is quickly moving toward its annual tipoff. 

To help you get ready for this upcoming basketball season, whether you coach Night League, middle school, high school or club basketball, we are again running the 3rd Annual Greater Victoria Community Basketball Coaches Clinic scheduled to take place Saturday, September 23, at UVic’s McKinnon Gym and CARSA Fieldhouse.

This year’s coaches clinic has a theme is Developing Quality Practices with presenters focusing on teaching methods that will be able to be utilized in your practices.   Coaches at different age levels will also run one-hour-long practices to show what can be accomplished in a short time frame which many coaches face due to high demand for gym time in our community.  The clinic schedule with the presenters and their topics is attached for your perusal.

Attending coaches will see presentations using on-court demonstrators and be given access to notes and information from all the presenting coaches. A major feature is the clinic is FREE to attend for all coaches again this year, but you will still pay for parking at UVic.  There is not any pre-registration to attend the clinic as coaches can sign-in when they arrive at McKinnon Gym starting at 8:30 a. m.  Sessions start at 9:00 a. m. and run 9:00 a. m. – 2:45 p. m.
